This Privacy Policy explains how PaintMyPicture (“PaintMyPicture,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit paintmypicture.com, place an order for a custom painting, or sign up to receive our offers by email or text message.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following, depending on how you use the site:

• Contact details you give us. When you subscribe for a discount, take the quiz, use the scratch-to-win offer, or place an order, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your phone number (used for SMS) and name.
• Order information. The photos you upload, the style, size, framing, and any written notes or instructions for your painting, plus your shipping address.
• Payment information. Your card or wallet details are entered directly into our payment processor and are not stored on our servers. We receive a confirmation and limited details (such as the last four digits and payment status).
• Usage and device data. Standard information your browser sends — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed — collected through cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it’s used.

2. Email & SMS marketing consent

When you submit your email or phone number through one of our forms, you agree to receive marketing and promotional messages from PaintMyPicture about your order, new styles, and special offers, by email and (if you provided a number) by text message.

• Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can buy a painting without opting in to marketing messages.
• Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply to text messages.
• You can opt out at any time. Reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe from SMS, or click unsubscribe at the bottom of any marketing email. Reply HELP to a text for help. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about an order you’ve placed.

We do not sell your phone number, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

3. How we use your information

• To create, fulfill, and deliver your custom painting order.
• To send your digital rendering for approval and to collect the balance once you approve.
• To send order updates, receipts, and customer-support replies.
• To send marketing email and SMS where you’ve consented (see Section 2), and to apply discounts you’ve unlocked.
• To operate, secure, and improve the website, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Partners we share data with

We share information with trusted companies that help us run the business. They may only use it to perform services for us, and not for their own purposes. These include:

• Payment processors (such as Stripe) — to take your deposit and balance. Card data is handled by the processor under its own privacy policy.
• Hosting, database, and email providers — to securely store your order details and uploaded photos and to send order-related emails.
• Email and SMS marketing providers — to deliver the messages you opt in to receive.
• Painting artists and fulfillment partners — who create and ship your painting and receive the photos and details needed to complete your order.
• Shipping carriers and analytics providers — for delivery and to understand how the site is used.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or as part of a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).

5. Your uploaded photos

The photos you upload are used to create your painting and the digital rendering you approve. We keep them only as long as needed to provide and support your order. We do not use your personal photos in public marketing without your permission.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and discount applied, to remember preferences, and to measure site performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect how the site works.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide your order and for legitimate business and legal purposes, such as records of transactions and tax. You can ask us to delete your information, subject to those obligations.

8. Your rights & choices

• Opt out of marketing email or SMS at any time (see Section 2).
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your information under local privacy laws.

9. Children’s privacy

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted checkout and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
