Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of paintmypicture.com and your purchase of a custom, hand-painted artwork from PaintMyPicture (“PaintMyPicture,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By placing an order or using the site, you agree to these Terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. How the order works

Every painting is made to order through the following flow:

1. You upload your photo(s) and choose a style, size, and optional framing.
2. You pay a 20% deposit to start your order. The deposit holds your spot and kicks off your digital rendering.
3. A professional artist creates a digital rendering for you to review.
4. You request free revisions until you’re happy, then approve the rendering.
5. Your painting is hand-painted, and you pay the remaining balance only after you approve the finished work (unless you chose to pay in full at checkout).
6. Your painting ships to you.

2. The deposit and balance

• A deposit of 20% of your discounted order total is charged at checkout to begin your order. Discounts are applied to the order total before the deposit is calculated.
• The balance is the remaining price of your order, charged only after you approve your finished painting. For deposit orders, you authorize us to securely save your card at checkout and charge the balance to it once you approve the final work. If that card can’t be charged, or you paid the deposit with a buy-now-pay-later method, we send a secure invoice for the balance instead. If you chose pay-in-full or a buy-now-pay-later option at checkout, your payment is handled at that time instead.
• Prices are shown on the site and confirmed at checkout, and any taxes or fees that apply are shown or calculated before you pay.

3. Renderings & revisions

Before we paint, you’ll review a digital rendering based on your photo. You may request unlimited free revisions to the rendering until it’s right. We begin painting only after you approve it. Because each piece is hand-made, the finished painting is an artistic interpretation, and small natural variations are expected and are part of the handcrafted nature of the work.

Turnaround times shown on the site are estimates and may vary with the painting process, revisions, and shipping.

4. Our guarantee, refunds & cancellations

• Deposit refund before approval. If you change your mind before approving your rendering, contact us and we’ll refund your deposit. There is no commitment until you approve.
• Love It or Don’t Pay. You don’t pay the balance until you approve your finished painting. If it isn’t right, we revise it free of charge, and if we still can’t get it right, you walk away without paying the balance.
• Satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not happy with your delivered painting, contact us and we’ll work with you to make it right.
• Because paintings are custom-made to your specifications, an order that is already in production generally can’t be cancelled for a full refund, except as covered by the guarantees above. If something comes up, reach out and we’ll do our best to help.

5. Shipping & delivery

Shipping options and any costs are shown at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by the painting process, carriers, and customs. Any import duties or taxes charged on delivery to your country are your responsibility unless we state otherwise.

6. Your content & the rights you give us

• You own your photos. By uploading, you confirm you have the right to use them and to have a painting made from them.
• You grant us a limited license to use your uploaded photos solely to create, revise, and deliver your painting and to provide customer support.
• We will not use your personal photos or finished painting in our public marketing without your permission.
• You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else’s rights, or that you don’t have permission to use. We may decline orders that violate these Terms or applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The site, its design, text, and graphics are owned by PaintMyPicture or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy or reuse them without permission. When your order is complete, the finished physical painting is yours to keep and enjoy.

8. Marketing messages

If you opt in, you agree to receive marketing email and SMS as described in our Privacy Policy. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you can opt out at any time (reply STOP to texts or unsubscribe from emails).

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The site and services are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaintMyPicture disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

10. Disputes

If you ever have a problem, we’d like the chance to fix it first — please contact us and we’ll work with you in good faith. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where PaintMyPicture operates.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
